In a Nutshell
A picturesque, pedestrianised resort perched on the side of the mountain. In the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area, spanning 12 different resorts and boasting up to 650km of pistes, from Avoriaz you can ski across borders from France into Italy. Across this expansive ski area you’re sure to find some treasures; wide open pistes in Les Gets, tree runs down to Chatel, there’s even a park made of 100% natural materials. Once you’re done exploring the vast ski area the village has much to offer. With a brand new Folie Douce placed right in the middle of resort you can even walk to apres from your accommodation!
Not for the faint hearted! La Chavanette – more commonly known as “The Swiss Wall” is a sure way to test your mettle.
If the experts only sign at the top of this daunting run doesn’t put you off then peering over the edge at the sheer descent just might! If you’re brave enough to take the plunge this will be one to brag about for sure.
The ski area has plenty of more chilled out skiing as well. This expert run doesn’t represent the skiing in the whole range!
